Sponsor a Family

Your generosity, time and support are crucial to continuing this meaningful program. Burbank citizens, businesses, organizations and schools have been integral to the success of this longstanding program.

 

If you’ve been a sponsor before, we thank you for continuing to share your resources with those in need. If this is your first time, you’re in for a heartwarming experience that we hope you’ll want to do again year after year.

What does it mean to sponsor a family?

As a sponsor, you will shop for a family in need, wrap their gifts and deliver your presents along with food items on delivery day (December 14th). Just let us know the size of the family you want to sponsor on the Sponsor a Family form, and BCC will match you. Generally, there are 300 families who need sponsorship each year, so please consider sponsoring more than one family if you’re able.

 

Feel the joy of giving in a few easy steps:

 

  • Complete the Sponsor a Family form

  • We’ll send you a family’s information (ages, sizes and interests) by early November along with the family’s contact information

  • You’ll shop, wrap and deliver your holiday gifts and nonperishable food items to your sponsor family’s home (or wherever you both arrange) on Saturday, December 14th

To ensure all sponsored families enjoy a similar experience with our BCC Holiday Basket Program, we are providing gift shopping and food shopping guidelines to assist in building your holiday basket.

Here are some shopping ideas. 

We recommend each family member receive 4 or 5 items to unwrap and enjoy.

Holiday Basket Food Shopping Guideline

Here’s our recommendation for three bags of nonperishables for a family of 4 (if your sponsor family has more members, please shop accordingly). 

In addition, please gift a grocery store gift card in the amount of $25 to $50 so the family can shop for fresh food.

Our BCC elves will be your shoppers. Your monetary donation allows BCC to provide gifts and food for families who aren’t matched with a sponsor. We also have items that families need on our Amazon Wishlist.
